Rainy Days and Mondays

The Carpenters sang "rainy days and Mondays always get me down." Today is both rainy and Monday, so it ought to be a double whammy. But, I'm actually in a pretty good mood. For one thing, we desperately need the rain. For another, I kind of enjoy the occasional rainy day because it removes all pressure to work outside. Sure, I've got a two page To Do list, but it's raining. Too bad. Guess I'll have to stay inside and read a book.

And speaking of reading a book, (nice segue, eh?) I received my first Amazon.com Vine Program book today. What is the Vine Program, you ask? I wondered the same thing when I received an invitation from Amazon.com to join. In the Vine Program, you get free stuff from Amazon.com in return for promising to post a review of the product. I inspected all the fine print, thinking there was a catch, but it seems to be the real deal, so I signed up. Because it was the end of the month, there weren't a lot of choices left, but I did find one book that looked promising. It is a Harlequin Teen book called "Here Lies Bridget." The blurb on the back starts with "What do you do when the five people you meet in limbo all want you to go to hell?" Sounds interesting, no? And yeah, I know, I'm not a teenage girl, but I was one. Once. A long time ago. That counts...right?

I'll post my review here as well as on Amazon.com.
