As much as I hate cold winter weather, I know I ought to be thrilled that spring is here. But the thing is, aside from the warmer weather, spring is pretty miserable. First, there's all that pollen. I'm allergic to pretty much everything green, but especially to grasses and trees. Even with antihistamines and allergy shots, I'm pretty miserable. And then there's the hair thing. The mules are shedding. The cat is shedding. The dog is shedding. There is hair on my clothes, hair on my furniture, hair on the floor, hair all over my saddle blankets... Finally, there's the rain. I hate to complain about the rain. We need the rain. I want some rain. My pastures really need some rain. But do we have to have a week of it? Can't we get it a day or two at a time?
OK, enough whining. Now, on to something better. I loved the TV show Hawaii Five-O. I'm not talking about the remake, which is new this season (although I've grown quite fond of it, too), but the old 1960-70's original Hawaii Five-O. I was a crazy fanatic fan who would have been a stalker if I could have convinced my parents to loan me money for a plane ticket to Honolulu and drive me to the airport. And write me a fake sick note to get out of school. I once talked my grandma into taping a week's worth of Hollywood Squares because James MacArthur (Danno) was sitting in one of the squares. (Audio only, with my cassette recorder - no VCRs back then.) I loved Danno...
Mmmmm...where was I? Oh, yeah, so when I spotted the Hawaii Five-O Season One DVDs on sale at Amazon.com, of course I ordered them. They arrived yesterday and now they're sitting right next to my TV, just waiting. I can't wait to dive in.
